Lilburne's Today

"Bringing the past to life to aid the future."

Lieutenant-Colonel John Lilburne's Regiment of Foote are a very friendly team with lots of experience in re-enactment. This means that we can help new members with whatever role they wish to adopt within the society; in fact, we take great pride in encouraging people of all ages and from all walks of life, enabling you to get the most out of your new hobby, both on and off the field. We enjoy the camaraderie and friendships of other members of our regiment, across the whole age range of our membership.

It is also a source of great Regimental pride that we are an exceptionally enthusiastic and forward-looking unit, who learn from the past and others, in order to go forward with new ideas and objectives to improve the authenticity of our appearance, our knowledge of the C17th, together with the standard of the events we organise. We actively support the children of our unit, who, we acknowledge, are our future adult membership. With the support and guidance of all the adults, we help them to achieve their own goals and ambitions within the Society. Lilburne's as a regiment is still growing and we are keen to work hard to establish and maintain Lieutenant-Colonel John Lilburne's Regiment of Foote as the premier Regiment in the Army of Parliament.

Our regiment follows a similar structure to that of a regiment of the period, in that there are a variety of different types of soldiers who enjoy extra support from other field personnel. Click on each type for further info.
